About the Mayor
Mayor Gary Ivey has a long history of service to the people of Hoover. He has lived in Hoover for 30 years.

Mayor Ivey is president and CEO of Crest Cadillac which is a Hoover business. He served on the Board of SafeHouse in Shelby County for 12 years and on the Hoover Planning and Zoning Board for 8 years.

Mayor Ivey was elected to the Hoover City Council in 2004 and was re-elected in 2008 without opposition. He served as president of the City Council the entire time he served on the Hoover City Council. Under his leadership as President of the City Council, Hoover has continued to maintain a balanced budget. He was appointed Mayor of Hoover in October, 2011 to fill the unexpired term of the former mayor and was re-elected July, 2012 having no opposition.

Mayor Ivey is a trustee at the Church of the Highlands and is married to Carolyn Ivey and they have two daughters, Tyler and Nicole.

Mayor Ivey has enjoyed his service to the people of Hoover as president of the City Council, and looks forward to continuing that service as mayor of the City of Hoover.
