Items Not Accepted

  • Plastic flower vases
  • Styrofoam
  • Wire hangers
  • Plastic bags

Please rinse containers but there is no need to wash them with soap prior to recycling. Also, please do not put shredded paper inside the bins unless it has been placed inside a paper bag and closed with tape. If not, the shredded paper will blow all over the recycle center when unloaded. Remember, plastic bags are not accepted. They can get tangled in the machinery causing damage.

If You Move
Do not take the recycle bin with you if you relocate - even if you are moving to another location within Hoover. Please leave the recycle bin for the next owner or resident of the home. If you move within the city limits of Hoover, call 205-444-7543 and we will have another bin delivered. The bins are the property of the garbage company.

To help keep Hoover beautiful, please remove your recycle bin from the curb once your recyclables are collected. This also prevents bins from being damaged or misplaced.
