This is not a scary event. Come and make arachnophobia a thing of the past! Learn about the fascinating world of spiders with Dr. Drew Hataway from the Biological and Environment Sciences Department at Samford University.

Dr. Hataway will discuss his experiences with spiders, both in the wild and in the laboratory. He'll even bring some interesting arachnids for us to view up close. Learn how to distinguish dangerous from non-dangerous spiders. Plus, bring your flashlights for a fun-filled field trip after class in search of harmless wolf spiders on the grounds of Aldridge Gardens. Their eyes glow in the dark!

This event is $15 for Aldridge Gardens members and $20 for non-members.

Within the walls of Truvy’s beauty shop, set in the deep Bayou of Louisiana, are six women whose lives increasingly hinge on the existence of one another. In each of our lives, we encounter those with whom we share an indescribable bond. They are the ones we’d go to any lengths to support and with whom we can disagree strongly while loving deeply. They change our lives just by being in them and our connections with them defy the limitations of distance and time. At turns both laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, this L.A. Theatre Works production features a diverse cast of six extraordinary characters in a tour de force of female empowerment, resilience and the comfort that can be found right in our own back yard.
